Work with applied scientists and engineers on large-scale deep learning, distributed training infrastructure, platform capabilities, and Copilot scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Lead design discussions and define architecture that meets project, security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
- Build scalable platform capabilities and features, maintain developer tools, and lead implementation and deployment.
- Translate project vision into milestones and guide estimation and planning.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
- Monitor systems, respond to incidents, restore services, and reduce recurring incident volume.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand user requirements and incorporate ongoing feedback.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and six or more years of technical engineering experience coding in relevant languages, or equivalent experience.
- Must meet applicable Microsoft, customer, or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree and additional relevant industry experience, as specified in the posting.
- Experience shipping AI-powered products or platforms involving large language models, agentic systems, retrieval, or related technologies.
- Experience operating large-scale cloud or distributed systems with focus on reliability, performance, security, observability, and operational excellence.
- Ability to shape technical strategy, influence architecture, mentor engineers, and deliver measurable customer outcomes.
Compensation
- Typical U.S. base pay is USD $142,800–$274,800 per year; the stated range for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area is USD $188,000–$304,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and additional compensation.
