Principal Software Engineer (React)

Role overview

What you'll do

• Define frontend architecture, technical vision, and long-term platform roadmap.
• Lead scalable, high-performance web application development for millions of users.
• Conduct architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and drive technical leadership.
• Own production reliability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Partner across product, design, backend engineering, and senior leadership.
• Improve performance, accessibility, design systems, CI/CD, code quality, and technical standards.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 or more years of frontend or full-stack development experience, including at least 2 years in a principal, staff, or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Proven leadership of large-scale technical initiatives and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and make sound short-term versus long-term technical trade-offs.

Technical skills

• Expert HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React expertise is required.
• Experience with state management, data-fetching libraries, frontend build systems, REST, GraphQL, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with testing, Git workflows, CI/CD, web performance, accessibility, and observability.
• AI developer tools are expected; backend, cloud, micro-frontend, and design-system experience are additional areas mentioned.
