Principal Engineer

Role overview

Architecture and product recovery

• Own and drive full-stack design for scalable and secure software solutions.
• Define coding standards and lead adoption of modern backend and frontend technologies.
• Stabilize struggling products by identifying performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Refactor monolithic applications and migrate them to microservices where needed.
• Optimize database performance, APIs, system integrations, and latency.

Engineering leadership

• Lead hands-on coding, design reviews, performance tuning, testing, deployments, and security practices.
• Work with frontend, DevOps, data, product, and platform teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across teams.

AI-assisted development

• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, and Sourcegraph Cody.
• Evaluate and roll out AI tools across development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define secure, compliant, and performance-conscious generative AI guidance.
• Measure adoption impact and assess new tools for developer experience, code quality, and delivery velocity.

Technical requirements

• Expertise in C#/.NET Core, ASP.NET, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms, with Azure preferred.
• Strong experience with Angular, TypeScript, and state management such as NgRx or similar.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server, query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
• Understanding of security, OAuth, JWT, scalability, and AI-assisted engineering transformation.

• Proven ability to turn around struggling products and reduce technical debt.
• Strong architectural vision and influence across multiple teams.
• Excellent mentorship skills and ability to communicate technical strategy to engineering and executive leadership.
