The role
Capco is seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead enterprise data architecture design and evolution across complex transformation programmes.
The role combines strategic architecture, modern data platform expertise, and technical governance to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready data solutions.
The role works with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into architecture and guide engineering teams through implementation.
What you'll do
- Define target-state architectures, data models, domain structures, and integration patterns aligned with business objectives, enterprise standards, and non-functional requirements.
- Design scalable data platforms using technologies including Snowflake, dbt, and cloud-native services, with attention to performance, security, resilience, and cost efficiency.
- Architect modular microservices-based solutions incorporating REST APIs, API gateways, and modern data ingestion and integration patterns.
- Establish consistent data modeling, naming conventions, semantic definitions, and data management standards.
- Translate business and technical requirements into architecture designs, assess source-system integration feasibility, and validate proposed solutions.
- Lead technical design reviews, assess architectural decisions, dependencies, and risks, and recommend ways to maintain consistency and reduce rework.
- Facilitate architecture discussions, prepare technical documentation and presentations, communicate design decisions, and contribute to governance forums.
- Guide delivery teams to follow agreed standards, design principles, and implementation best practices.
What we're looking for
- Extensive enterprise data architecture experience in financial services.
- Strong knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud data architectures.
- Experience designing data integration solutions, ETL/ELT pipelines, microservices architectures, REST APIs, and API gateway integrations.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data security, and architectural standards.
- Experience reviewing solution designs, evaluating technical risks and dependencies, and guiding cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and presentation skills, including engagement with senior technical stakeholders and governance forums.
