Portfolio Manager

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Own the portfolio of strategic business and transformation initiatives across multiple banking functions.
• Establish governance, reporting, and performance management frameworks.
• Prioritize initiatives based on strategic value, regulatory requirements, customer impact, and organizational capacity.
• Oversee programmes and projects against objectives, timelines, budgets, risks, and benefits.
• Monitor risks, dependencies, issues, and resource requirements, escalating matters as needed.
• Produce dashboards, management information, and executive reporting for leadership and governance forums.
• Track milestones, financial performance, deliverables, dependencies, and benefits realization.
• Develop mitigation and recovery plans and support investment and prioritization decisions.
• Maintain governance, controls, and documentation while facilitating governance meetings.
• Resolve cross-programme dependencies with Programme and Project Managers.
• Improve portfolio management processes, reporting, and governance.

Key Requirements

• At least 15 years of portfolio, programme, or transformation management experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong experience managing multiple programmes or projects within a complex banking portfolio.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, operating models, and regulatory environments.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders, including C-suite and executive leadership.
• Strong governance, reporting, prioritization, stakeholder management, risk, dependency, budget, resource, and benefits management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills.
• Portfolio management tools and reporting dashboard experience is desirable.
• PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, or similar certification is advantageous.
• UAE or GCC banking experience is highly desirable.
