About the company

The Fidelis Partnership is a privately owned, Bermuda-based managing general underwriter operating globally in property, bespoke, and specialty insurance and reinsurance.

Its operations include outward reinsurance, claims handling, exposure management, portfolio analytics, and the Pine Walk platform for specialist MGAs.

Role overview

The Portfolio Analyst will use analytical insight and real-time portfolio intelligence to shape underwriting performance.

The role connects underwriting, pricing, reserving, and claims, helping ensure performance insights inform underwriting decisions.

A priority is building near-real-time portfolio visibility, including automated views of loss emergence and IBNR.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop performance attribution across classes, segments, underwriting years, and distribution sources.
  • Analyze pricing adequacy against actual performance, including risk-adjusted rate change.
  • Implement near-live monitoring with automated IBNR and loss-emergence signals.
  • Lead large-loss reviews and feed findings into underwriting, claims, and broker engagement.
  • Identify trends in short- and long-tailed lines and translate them into pricing, reserving, and underwriting insight.
  • Partner with underwriting and pricing teams to challenge assumptions and improve decisions.
  • Feed insight into business planning, capital allocation, and portfolio strategy.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in portfolio analytics, actuarial work, or performance management within insurance or reinsurance.
  • Strong understanding of pricing adequacy and underwriting performance drivers.
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into clear, concise commercial insight.
  • Experience with large datasets, automated reporting environments, and some prompt engineering experience.
  • Exposure to a cross-section of pricing, reserving, and capital modelling.
  • Experience with real-time or near-real-time analytics and dashboards.

Company ethos and inclusion

The company describes a focus on quality, tailored client solutions, expertise, ethical business, and a workplace emphasizing execution, meritocracy, and diversity and inclusion.

It describes diversity programs across its offices, including internship and scholarship awards and outreach in Bermuda.
