Role overview

The PMO supports global Business Process Re-engineering teams, the project and business change management function within Apple Sales and Operations.

This individual-contributor role supports Apple's Operations and Sales project teams across strategic planning, portfolio management, governance, and individual project requests.

The role can step into critical delivery responsibilities for high-profile programs that cross normal organizational structures.

PMO responsibilities

  • Set BPR standards and tools; drive multi-year roadmapping and lead annual Sales and Operations capital planning.
  • Own portfolio reporting, cross-portfolio impact assessment, and organizational development; run the BPR operating cadence.
  • Manage key cross-functional programs, recurring reporting, issue escalation, and improvements to PMO tools and methods.
  • Plan and deliver training, new-joiner inductions, workshops, and team meetings.
  • Support business case review, PR/PO creation, and tracking approved capital spend against plan.
  • Align governance, intake, and reporting with the IS&T PMO and adjacent delivery organizations.
  • Maintain data integrity in portfolio systems and provide short-term delivery support for critical, high-visibility programs.

Minimum qualifications

  • 4–8 years’ experience in project management, program management, and portfolio planning and delivery, including setting standards, proposing policy, and coaching others.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes from sales through the supply chain.
  • Personal experience delivering large-scale initiatives under pressure, with complexity and ambiguity.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to partner with Finance on capital planning, budgets, and spend governance.
  • Expertise building and automating portfolio reporting for an objective view of program health.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field is required.

Preferred qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • Finance or finance-adjacent background and hands-on capital planning, budget management, and procurement-process exposure preferred.
  • Advanced reporting and analytics proficiency, including designing dashboards and metrics, preferred.
  • Big Four consulting experience is desirable but not required.
  • Flexibility across time zones, occasional early or late calls, and domestic or international travel as program needs require.

Organization

Apple's Information Systems and Technology organization supports customer and employee technology systems and serves Sales and Operations project teams.
