PMC Senior Instrument & Control Engineer

Role overview

Engineering oversight

• Oversee EPC contractor and vendor I&C work and ensure compliance with specifications, client requirements, codes, and industry practices.
• Review and approve instrument data sheets, specifications, control philosophies, cause-and-effect diagrams, loop diagrams, and instrument indexes.
• Evaluate DCS, PLC, ESD, Fire & Gas, and SCADA designs and implementations.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecom, and Safety disciplines.
• Review vendor proposals, technical bid evaluations, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor engineering progress, deliverables, and project milestones.

Project delivery and testing

• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, functional safety assessments, and other technical risk reviews.
• Provide technical support during engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• Resolve technical queries, deviations, and site issues related to instrumentation and control.
• Witness and approve FAT, SAT, loop checks, and functional tests.
• Verify installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instruments and control systems.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A master's degree in Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Systems Engineering is an advantage.
• Typically 15 or more years of I&C engineering experience in oil and gas, LNG, refinery, petrochemical, offshore, power, or industrial projects.
• At least five years in PMC, EPC, or major capital projects in a senior engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, ISA, API, NFPA, NORSOK, and ISO standards.
• Extensive experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, SIS, and Fire & Gas systems.
• Experience in instrumentation design, control system architecture, automation engineering, HAZOP, SIL, functional safety, and risk management.
