Plant Operator

Position purpose

Key activities

• Unload vehicles and trailers where required at the site.
• Move waste around the plant and weigh containers.
• Empty and clean waste containers, then store them ready for collection.
• Coordinate paperwork and receive supplier and contractor deliveries.
• Oversee safe handling of loose waste into containers when delivered.
• Operate a forklift truck if required.
• Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
• Maintain operational records and job-specific data.
• Report major equipment or building defects and concerns to management before taking action.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager during breakdowns or controlled stoppages.
• Follow safety signs, notices, and company health and safety procedures.
• Attend job-specific training and undertake other duties needed for safe, compliant plant operations.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic.
• Able to work effectively with a team and under pressure.
• Able to work on own initiative and be punctual.
• Flexible approach to hours, including shift work.
