Role purpose

Plant and shift operations

• Supervise all operatives and assist in processing waste at the plant.
• Use resources, manpower, and materials efficiently and identify possible cost savings.
• Prioritise site operations and maintain effective communication across shifts.
• Rectify equipment faults and defects where possible and report them to the Plant Manager.

Compliance, quality, and training

• Ensure compliance with the site licence, applicable legislation, and the business management system.
• Record service, quality, compliance, or legislative shortfalls and take appropriate action.
• Maintain accurate documentation, quality standards, and regular quality control checks.
• Enforce standard operating procedures, company instructions, health and safety regulations, and safe working practices.
• Assist with employee training and plan plant improvements with operational managers.

Education and experience

• High School education or equivalent.
• Good organisation and attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to manage time and multiple tasks to timescales; self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic.
• Reasonable IT knowledge, especially Microsoft Excel and email.
• A formal craft qualification and people management training are advantages.
