Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our project team in Qatar - Ras Laffan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, updating, monitoring, and controlling project schedules while providing accurate progress reporting, schedule analysis, and forecasting for large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
- Monitor project progress and analyze schedule performance
- Prepare progress reports, delay analysis, and recovery plans
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution of activities
- Identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Support project management with planning, resource allocation, and reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with project milestones and contractual obligations
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders regarding planning and scheduling matters
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 8-12 years of planning and scheduling experience in large-scale building construction projects
- Proven experience in residential, accommodation, mixed-use, institutional, or similar developments
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (Advanced Level)
- Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering projects of comparable scale and complexity
- Previous experience in Qatar is preferred; GCC experience will also be considered
- MMUP/UPDA registration is preferred for candidates currently in Qatar and mandatory where applicable
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, and scheduling principles
- Familiarity with Qatar Energy requirements, major clients, consultants, and local authority regulations is an advantage
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities
