Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Planning Engineer role based in Abu Dhabi.
The Planning Engineer will develop, update, and monitor project schedules, ensuring alignment with contract milestones and construction sequences.
Responsibilities include preparing detailed work breakdown structures, resource and manpower plans, and weekly and monthly progress reports.
The role involves coordinating with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to track progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation measures.
The Planning Engineer will support project control activities, including tracking productivity, monitoring variances, and assisting in claims and extension-of-time justifications.
The position also requires maintaining accurate planning records and contributing to continuous improvement of planning processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong Planning and Production Planning skills, including development of schedules, resource plans, and construction sequences.
- Minimum of 5 yrs relevant experience.
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret project data, assess risks, monitor variances, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in Project Control, including progress measurement, reporting, forecasting, and support for claims or time extensions.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, presenting reports, and liaising with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office tools.
- Experience in building or infrastructure projects, preferably within government or institutional sectors in UAE, is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adhere to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Currently based in UAE
- With valid driving license
