Planning & Budgeting Advisor

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Provide financial forecasts, analysis, and reports for strategic decisions in the Campus and Community department.
• Align budget plans with Campus and Community goals and priorities.
• Prepare detailed reports, variance analyses, and cost assessments for OPEX and CAPEX.
• Monitor budget performance and communicate financial status, risks, and opportunities.
• Identify efficiencies and cost reductions while managing operational expenditure.
• Gather unit budget inputs and guide Campus and Community teams on financial planning.
• Advise leadership on budget policies, planning strategies, and funding requirements.
• Recommend budget and resource-allocation adjustments as operational needs or external factors change.
• Assist with scenario planning and risk management for strategic projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or advisory roles.
• Higher education or nonprofit experience is preferred.
• Experience managing and reporting on OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Collaborative experience with multiple stakeholders and exposure to large-scale budget management.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for modeling, data analysis, and forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency with financial software, including ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and financial reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Advanced Financial Management or similar professional certification is advantageous.
