Role overview

Location and hours

• Based at Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham.
• The position is 40 hours per week, with some flexibility available by discussion.

Contract and salary

• Offered as an 8-month fixed-term contract.
• Salary is £30,000–£32,000 per year, plus benefits.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor programmes for capital works delivery.
• Align project timelines with programme objectives and track milestones.
• Allocate resources across projects, identify gaps, and propose solutions.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and risks and recommend corrective actions and contingency plans.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, and internal teams; maintain compliance with streetworks permits.

Candidate profile

• Experience in highways maintenance, infrastructure, or construction.
• Experience developing and managing project programmes for capital works or construction.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
• Confident use of Microsoft Office and project planning software to support delivery, risk identification, and problem solving.
