Role overview

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and functional needs and develop personalized therapy plans.
• Deliver hands-on treatment for musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative, and complex rehabilitation cases.
• Set patient-centered goals with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams; adjust treatment based on response and recovery.
• Use evidence-based practice and outcome measures; coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and allied professionals.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, post-treatment care, mobility, and wellness, while monitoring clinical risks and safety.
• Complete documentation, billing, and reporting in line with healthcare regulations.
• Support service development, student or junior-staff education, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy, or direct entry from a recognized program with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy.
• At least 4 years of post-qualification experience in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Recognized specialty qualification in accordance with Department of Health guidelines.
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, relevant procedures, and current best practices.
