Work with medical and nursing teams to support patient care and provide medication-related advice.
Key responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness; advise on dosages, administration methods, and formulations.
- Maintain medication-related documentation; participate in patient rounds, review medication histories, and contribute to treatment decisions.
- Ensure secure medication storage and monthly inspection and documentation; prepare and quality-check sterile medications.
- Label and securely store high-alert medications; verify crash cart medication boxes are sealed and replenish them after use.
- Establish and enforce medication-use guidelines; monitor expenditures and support efficient medication management.
- Supervise and educate pharmacy staff and new pharmacists.
- Contribute to quality indicators, patient satisfaction, performance improvement, patient safety, and infection prevention; report potential risks to the Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- At least one year of pharmacist experience; hospital or dialysis experience is preferred.
- Valid pharmacist registration or licensure from the country of origin.
- Valid SCFHS classification and registration.
- Valid BLS certification from the Saudi Heart Association.
