Pediatric Neurologist – Arabic Speaking

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric neurological consultations and examinations.
• Diagnose and manage pediatric neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
• Evaluate seizures, epilepsy, headaches, developmental concerns, muscle weakness, abnormal movements, and other neurological symptoms.
• Assess developmental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorders and ADD/ADHD.
• Interpret EEG, prolonged EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies where appropriately trained and credentialed.
• Request and interpret laboratory, genetic, MRI, CT, and other diagnostic investigations.
• Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and investigations clearly to children and their families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
• Maintain medical records, provide urgent assessment and referral, and contribute to quality improvement.

Clinical Expertise

• Experience is expected in pediatric epilepsy, seizure disorders, childhood headaches, migraine, neuromuscular diseases, and peripheral neuropathies.
• Relevant expertise includes developmental delay, autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, genetic neurological disorders, movement disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Additional areas include tremors, tics, dystonia, myoclonus, muscle weakness, speech and developmental difficulties, balance and gait disorders, and inflammatory neurological disorders.

Diagnostic Skills

• Experience with or appropriate training in routine EEG and prolonged EEG is highly desirable.
• Experience with EMG and nerve conduction studies is highly desirable.
• Clinical interpretation of MRI and CT, genetic and laboratory investigations, and evoked potential studies is highly desirable.

Candidate Requirements

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Neurology, Neurology, or Pediatrics with appropriate subspecialty training.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Current or eligible DHA, DOH, MOHAP, or UAE medical license, as applicable.
• Strong pediatric neurological diagnosis and management experience.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
