Pastry Sous Chef - Kuwait

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support pastry and bakery operations and supervise production of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, chocolates, and other bakery items.
• Maintain company standards and consistency in taste, quality, portioning, decoration, and presentation.
• Assist with production planning, mise en place, stock rotation, service readiness, and bulk production for events, catering, displays, and high-volume operations.
• Guide and train junior team members; monitor food cost, wastage, inventory, storage, and portion control.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, cleanliness, and HACCP standards; assist with menus, seasonal items, special requests, and product development.
• Coordinate with culinary, service, purchasing, stewarding, and management; lead pastry operations when the Executive Pastry Chef is absent.
• Support continuous improvement in pastry quality, efficiency, and team productivity.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef, Junior Pastry Sous Chef, Senior Pastry Chef, or similar role; strong experience in hospitality or high-volume F&B operations.
• Solid knowledge of pastry, bakery, desserts, cakes, chocolates, plated desserts, and production planning.
• Bulk production and multi-outlet support experience is advantageous.
• Strong team supervision, communication, and training skills; knowledge of food cost, inventory, portion control, and wastage reduction.
• Excellent food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance knowledge; creative, organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment; professional problem-solving skills.
• International hospitality or multi-outlet experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to relocate to Kuwait.
