Role Overview
Order Picker associates gather merchandise throughout the store to fill customer orders, pack and label items, and stage orders until they are moved out and loaded onto a truck.
The role is part of the Service Desk team and includes basic customer order transactions, calls, and reading COM orders or system notes.

Order Picker associates gather merchandise throughout the store to fill customer orders, pack and label items, and stage orders until they are moved out and loaded onto a truck.
The role is part of the Service Desk team and includes basic customer order transactions, calls, and reading COM orders or system notes.
Key responsibilities
- Obtain pick lists and prioritize orders for timely fulfillment using the Order Fulfillment Application.
- Pack and label orders carefully to prevent damage during delivery and place them in designated holding areas.
- Load delivery vehicles and take curbside orders out while complying with safety regulations.
- Create space for delivery orders until they are moved out of the store.
- Move freight safely from staging areas to overheads or bring merchandise down using appropriate equipment.
- Follow all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
- Provide customer service by greeting, engaging, and thanking customers.
Competencies and skills
- The role calls for effective communication, customer focus, action orientation, and results focus.
- Listed skills include attention to detail, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of reach trucks and order picker machines is an asset.
Requirements
- Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of retail or distribution experience is an asset.
- Physical work includes walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
- Occasionally, the associate must move heavy or bulky items without assistance.
- The role requires climbing ladders up to 12–16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise.
Schedule and working conditions
- The flexible schedule includes overnight shifts and may include evenings and weekends.
- The work takes place in a dusty, noisy warehouse environment with forklift fumes, drafts, and interior temperature changes.
Reporting line
Reports to the Service Desk Department Supervisor.
