Order Picker
Role Overview
The Order Picker with The Restaurant Store is responsible for supporting the Order Fulfillment Manager in all aspects of the customer order process within a retail branch location. The Order Picker will fulfill customer orders by accurately picking, consolidating, slotting, and completing all functions related to order fulfillment in alignment with the goals of our sales, order fulfillment, inventory and merchandising teams. This associate will be cross-trained in merchandising and front end departments in order to flex to these departments during lulls in order volume. As they will also assist with customer transactions, the Order Picker will need to be comfortable with cash handling and customer service.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Pick, consolidate, and slot customer orders accurately and efficiently using pallet jacks, carts and/or powered equipment
- Complete all order fulfillment tasks in alignment with branch operational goals
- Meet or exceed company-defined efficiency and accuracy metrics
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe order fulfillment area
- Communicate discrepancies, order status or issues effectively with Order Fulfillment Manager
- Perform additional tasks and support initiatives as assigned by management to ensure smooth location operations and alignment with overall business goals
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 9 hours/day.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in retail and/or supply chain management
Education
This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.
Desired Traits & Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience with CRM systems and project management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
- Service leadership approach with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
