Order Picker associates prioritize pick lists, gather merchandise, pack and label orders, and stage them until they are moved out of the store or loaded onto trucks.
The role is part of the Service Desk team and includes basic customer order-related transactions, POS sales and returns, customer calls, and reading COM orders or system notes.
Key responsibilities
- Gather the product mix for orders in a timely manner using the Order Fulfillment Application.
- Pack and label orders carefully and place them in specified holding areas until dispatch or pickup.
- Load delivery vehicles and take customers' curbside orders out while complying with safety regulations.
- Follow the company's customer service GET model: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
- Move freight safely between designated staging areas and overheads using appropriate equipment.
- Follow all safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
Qualifications and physical requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, and move items; occasionally lift and move heavy or bulky items without assistance.
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 12–16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise.
- One to two years of retail or distribution experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of operating reach trucks and order picker machines is an asset.
Schedule
- Flexible schedule includes overnight shifts and may include evenings and weekends.
Working conditions
- Work takes place in a warehouse environment that may be dusty and noisy, with forklift fumes, drafts, and interior temperature changes.
