The work centers on Oracle SQL/PL/SQL database development, data analysis and modelling, ETL/batch processing, and performance optimization.
Work with developers, architects, analysts, product partners, and other technology teams in an Agile delivery environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Oracle SQL/PL/SQL solutions, data APIs, stored procedures, packages, functions, and other database components.
- Analyze and model data; tune database queries and applications for performance.
- Develop and maintain batch processing and ETL workflows, including technologies such as Informatica and AutoSys.
- Apply design principles to produce scalable, reliable, maintainable applications; write clean, testable, readable, high-performing code.
- Follow ATDD practices and create automated tests for database code.
- Collaborate across application teams and work with database interactions involving Java, messaging, web containers, APIs, and middleware.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and CI/CD processes; help improve automated build, testing, and deployment practices.
- Translate business requirements, storyboards, and use cases into technical solutions; troubleshoot complex technical and data issues.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor teammates, promoting engineering and database development best practices.
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
- Experience in data analysis, data modelling, database design, and performance tuning.
- Experience developing and supporting batch processing and ETL solutions; Informatica and AutoSys are preferred examples.
- Understanding of relational databases, scalable application design, and automated testing using ATDD or similar practices.
- Experience in Agile software development and understanding of CI/CD concepts, processes, and tools.
- Familiarity with mid-tier technologies such as Java, messaging platforms, web containers, and APIs.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
Preferred experience
- Cloud data technologies, particularly Snowflake and AWS S3, are nice to have.
- Cloud modernization or migration of traditional Oracle/database workloads is a plus.
- Exposure to financial services or other large-scale regulated environments is a plus.
- Experience with distributed application architectures and complex enterprise data ecosystems is a plus.
