Full-time, non-management in-room dining order-taking role at St. Regis in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
The role provides room-service order support and guest service in a hotel setting.
Guest orders and service
- Take telephone room-service orders, answer menu questions, and confirm order details with kitchen staff.
- Answer guest questions about wine origins, harvests, and styles.
- Record order-related callbacks and notify guests and management about delivery delays.
- Tell the kitchen about extra food orders, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests.
- Welcome guests to company standards, anticipate and address needs, assist people with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely.
Transactions and work practices
- Enter order transactions in MICROS when orders are placed; complete closing reports, including MICROS reports.
- Process all payment methods and keep work areas clean throughout the day.
- Follow company and safety policies; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information and company property, and communicate professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality expectations.
Desirable qualifications and physical demands
- Related work experience and supervisory experience are not required.
- A high school diploma or GED-equivalent education is desirable.
- No license or certification is specified.
- The role involves standing, sitting, or walking for prolonged periods.
