Role overview

The Operations Research/Systems Analyst uses mathematical modeling and analytical techniques to solve organizational problems and contribute to operational planning.

The role works with departments and stakeholders to gather data, develop models, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to G-3/5 Plans and G-3/5/7.
  • Research and analyze issues, assess risks, and develop solutions.
  • Develop mathematical models and algorithms to optimize processes and systems.
  • Gather stakeholder requirements and understand business objectives.
  • Present data findings through presentations, dashboards, and other formats.
  • Recommend improvements to efficiency, effectiveness, and performance.
  • Keep current with operations research and systems analysis advancements.
  • Contribute to organizational strategies based on analytical insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations research, systems analysis, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities; effective teamwork and attention to accuracy.
  • Must have a Secret clearance.

Additional qualifications and skills

  • Operations Research or Systems Analysis certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Vantage data system; data visualization experience; and knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques and software, database management systems, and querying languages.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary range is $90,000–$105,000 yearly.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) match; paid vacation and sick leave; life and AD&D insurance; and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Additional voluntary benefits are available.
