Operations Manager

Role overview

Education and experience

• High school diploma or GED and four years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area; alternatively, a related two-year degree and two years of relevant experience.
• Related degree fields include Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration.

Team leadership and operations

• Translate goals related to guest tracking and productivity to the team and foster motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Review guest and employee satisfaction results, develop improvement plans, and ensure the team can meet expectations.
• Communicate goals and results, address employee concerns, and meet individually with staff semiannually.
• Support scheduling against guest demand and occupied-room goals; perform hourly job functions as needed.

Guest experience and performance

• Remain available to guests, address concerns proactively, and ensure timely responses to customer-service requests.
• Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and performance data to assess productivity and identify cost reductions or program improvements.
• Assist with annual quality audits and ensure a viable key-control program is in place.

Hiring and onboarding

• Interview candidates, assist with hiring decisions, receive hiring recommendations from supervisors, and ensure new team members receive timely orientation.

Schedule and location

• The role is full-time and not remote.
