Lead daily operations and maintenance strategy across a new processing and distribution site for an international materials and logistics company.
The position focuses on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring safe, reliable site performance.
The role
- Lead site operations, maintenance schedules, and operational teams.
- Keep bulk material handling, storage, loading, unloading, and transfer systems operating safely.
- Manage supervisors, maintenance personnel, stores, and external contractors.
- Build and execute preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.
- Monitor site KPIs, equipment availability, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Oversee material receipt, transfer, loading, and dispatch.
- Manage budgets, resources, and spare-parts procurement; lead troubleshooting and business continuity.
The candidate
- Bring leadership experience in plant, terminal, process, or heavy manufacturing operations.
- Have experience building maintenance strategies and reducing equipment downtime.
- Understand mechanical and electrical systems such as conveyors, pumps, compressors, motors, drives, and PLCs.
- Have a background in heavy manufacturing, bulk materials handling, aggregates, ports, utilities, or process engineering.
- Bring strong health and safety and risk-management knowledge, commercial awareness, and budget experience.
- Demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Schedule
- The role is Monday to Friday, day shifts.
Compensation
- Salary is advertised at £45,000 to £55,000 per year, with pay up to £55,000 depending on experience.
Location
- The position is based at the Avonmouth processing and distribution site in Bristol.
Contract
The role is permanent.
