Qualifications
- Seasoned Oncology Data Specialist with 2 years with ODS Credentials and 3 years of most current SEER abstracting experience (nothing less than that). This client also requires a 90% abstract quality score. Productivity for this project is set at 1 abstract in 1 hour and 40 minutes after 4-6 weeks of ramp up. OncoLog and Epic experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Extract and enter detailed oncology data from EMRs into the registry software with high accuracy.
- Ensure all submissions comply with state, national, and client‐specific reporting regulations.
- Perform case finding and verify completeness of patient records.
- Conduct follow‐up on pending data elements and resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in cancer conferences, tumor boards, and multidisciplinary meetings to gather required information.
- Generate and distribute regular data quality and compliance reports.
- Audit registry entries for accuracy and completeness on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff to obtain missing data.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other privacy standards.
- Provide training and support to team members on registry processes and software usage.
