About This Role
Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Dubai Down Syndrome Center.
The therapist will work closely with children and young adults with Down syndrome and other developmental needs, supporting their independence, sensory regulation, motor development, and participation in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized intervention plans
- Work on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care skills, handwriting readiness, functional independence, and daily living skills
- Support students with sensory regulation and classroom participation
- Collaborate closely with special educators, speech therapists, physiotherapists, behavior teams, and parents
- Maintain therapy documentation, progress reports, and session records
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning
- Provide parent guidance and home strategies where required
- Support community-based learning and functional skill development programs
- Maintain professional ethics and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- DHA license or DHA eligibility letter preferred
- Experience working with children with developmental delays, Down syndrome, autism, or special educational needs is preferred
- Freshers or candidates with 1–2 years of experience are welcome to apply
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, patient, and child-centered approach
- Ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of sensory integration strategies
- Experience in school or rehabilitation settings
- Familiarity with IEPs and functional goal setting
- Experience working on independence and vocational readiness skills is an advantage
