Role overview

Stantec seeks an experienced Operations and Maintenance Specialist for TAQA Water Solutions projects in Abu Dhabi.

The role supports wastewater, sewerage, pumping station, and associated utility infrastructure through design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations.

The specialist integrates O&M needs into project delivery to support asset performance, reliability, maintainability, and compliance with TAQA-WS standards.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10–15 years of experience in utility infrastructure operations, maintenance, asset management, commissioning, or engineering.
  • Experience with wastewater networks, sewerage systems, pumping stations, treatment plants, or water infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting handover, commissioning, and operational readiness for large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater and sewerage systems, asset lifecycle management, and maintenance planning.
  • Experience reviewing O&M manuals, commissioning records, and handover documentation.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance; understanding of HSE requirements and risk management.
  • Strong report writing and technical presentation skills; excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail and quality.
  • A master's degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
  • Experience with TAQA-WS, ADDC, ADSSC, or similar UAE utility operators is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and asset management systems.

Role focus

  • Provide technical expertise through project design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations.
  • Ensure operational and maintenance requirements are integrated into project delivery.
  • Support efficient asset performance, reliability, maintainability, and compliance with TAQA-WS standards.
