Network & Security Operations Engineer

Key responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, router, and switch infrastructure.
- Manage and troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
- Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and support incident response.
- Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
- Perform network health checks, security monitoring, and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage VPN access, network segmentation, access control lists, and security policies.
- Analyze network logs and security events using SIEM tools.
- Support patch management, firmware upgrades, and security configuration reviews.
- Coordinate with IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents.
- Maintain network diagrams, security documentation, incident reports, and operational procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, and IT security compliance activities.
- Follow IT security policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Required technical skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Hands-on firewall experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco.
- Experience with VPN technologies, network access control, and security policies.
- Knowledge of IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and threat detection.
- Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or IBM QRadar.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Zabbix.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with IT service management and ticketing tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in network operations, security operations, or infrastructure support.
- CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, PCNSA, Security+, or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a shift-based operations environment and participate in incident escalation, if required.
