Network Operations Director - Inside Plant

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Pacific/island or hurricane/typhoon-prone operating environment, with associated disaster preparedness planning
• Experience with central office modernization or technology refresh projects (legacy switch decommissioning, equipment consolidation)
• Experience coordinating inside plant work with facilities, outside plant, RAN, and core network organizations in an integrated carrier
• Here’s what you need to have:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered
• 10+ years of progressive experience in telecom central office/inside plant operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role
• Working knowledge of DC power plant systems (rectifiers, battery plant, generators/UPS) and environmental systems (HVAC, fire suppression) sufficient to monitor conditions and coordinate effectively with facilities personnel
• Strong working knowledge of switching, transmission, and fiber/cable distribution equipment within central office settings
• Familiarity with Telcordia/NEBS standards and industry best practices for central office equipment installation and maintenance
• Experience managing capital projects, vendor relationships, and equipment budgets
• Demonstrated people leadership experience managing technician and engineering teams, including on-call/emergency response programs
• Strong incident management and root-cause analysis skills for network equipment outages, including those with power or environmental contributing factors
