Role overview

Network and security implementation

• Deploy and configure VMware Cloud Director networks, edge gateways, and NSX-T-backed provider gateway integrations.
• Deploy NSX Advanced Load Balancer virtual services, pools, health monitors, SSL termination, and WAF policies.
• Implement Layer 2 extensions using NSX L2 Bridging, VMware HCX, or equivalent technologies.
• Deploy NGFW, IPS, and advanced threat protection solutions from staging through production.
• Configure VMware NSX-T overlay networking, gateways, distributed routing, distributed and gateway firewalls, and micro-segmentation.
• Deploy Palo Alto and Fortinet platforms, migrating policies and configuring URL filtering, application control, SSL inspection, VPNs, and threat prevention.
• Configure OCI network security controls, including Security Lists, Network Firewall, Fast Connect, and OCI IAM policies.
• Deploy F5 BIG-IP LTM, GTM, and ASM/AWAF solutions; execute ADC migrations and cutovers.
• Deploy secure web proxy and URL filtering solutions for acceptable-use and data-loss-prevention policies.

Migration, assessment, and documentation

• Execute end-to-end migrations from legacy network security infrastructure with minimal business disruption.
• Assess infrastructure for migration planning and identify remediation requirements before cutover.
• Ensure implementations meet relevant security compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to high-level and low-level design documentation and produce implementation documentation.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in network security implementation, deployment, and migration roles.
• Production experience with VMware NSX-T/NSX-4, VMware Cloud Director networking, NSX Advanced Load Balancer, and Layer 2 extension technologies.
• Proven delivery of complex security migrations and cutovers in live enterprise environments.

Technical expertise

• Expertise in Fortinet and Palo Alto firewall platforms, including policy migration, VPN setup, and threat prevention configuration.
• Experience deploying F5 BIG-IP in production, including virtual servers, WAF policies, and SSL profiles.
• Familiarity with OCI network security services for private and hybrid-cloud deployments.
• Experience configuring secure web proxy and URL filtering platforms.
• The detailed scope also covers NSX full-stack deployment, VCD multi-tenant networking, IaC automation with Terraform or Ansible, VPNs, OCI Landing Zones, IAM/PAM, directory integration, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and security monitoring platforms is specified.

Preferred certifications

• Preferred certifications include VMware VCP-NV or NSX VCIX-NV/Certified Implementation Expert; CCNP Security or equivalent; PCNSE; Fortinet NSE 7 or higher; F5 CSE; or OCI Network Associate.

• Strong communication and coordination with technical teams and stakeholders during live migrations.
• Ability to produce clear implementation runbooks, test plans, and post-migration reports.
• Ability to manage risks and issues during time-sensitive deployment windows and collaborate with architects, project managers, and operations teams.
