Nesting engineer

Role overview

Role responsibilities

• Work with the Team Lead to develop shop drawings.
• Create fabrication and erection drawings using CAD and Tekla software.
• Perform nesting for steel structures and pre-engineered buildings.
• Generate CNC files for plasma machines using nesting software.
• Work with shop personnel to resolve manufacturing-process issues.
• Review punch lists against contract documents, bills of materials, and cut sheets.
• Support fabrication involving cutting, grinding, welding, and final finishing.
• Optimize nesting to achieve a minimum scrap percentage.

Qualifications and abilities

• Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, ProNest, Most2D, or another nesting software.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience generating fabrication, shop, and erection drawings for steel structures.
• Experience with plasma cutting and related software.
• Knowledge of raw material sizes and industry standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and work within a team.

Experience

• One to two years of experience in nesting is stated.
• Freshers may apply with AutoCAD knowledge.

Compensation

• Pay is ₹25,000–₹38,000 per month.
