1. JOB PURPOSE

The NDT Level III Technician shall be responsible for performing and overseeing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on offshore jacket structures.

The role ensures compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations while maintaining the highest quality of inspection outcomes.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Perform and supervise NDT inspections using MPI, PT, UT, and RT methods on offshore jacket structures.

2.

Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with ASNT Level III standards and project specifications.

3.

Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, defects, and recommendations for corrective actions.

4.

Ensure all NDT activities comply with safety protocols, industry codes (ASME, API, DNV), and client requirements.

5.

Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.

6.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level I and Level II technicians on site.

7.

Coordinate with the QA/QC team and project management to ensure timely completion of inspection activities.

8.

Identify and report any non-conformances or quality issues promptly to the Site Supervisor / Project Manager.

9.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and equipment calibration logs.

10.

Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments as required.

3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • ASNT Level III certification in MPI, PT, UT, and RT methods.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in NDT inspection, with at least 3 years in offshore jacket structures.
  • Proven experience in offshore oil & gas environments, including platform and jacket inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards: ASME, API, DNV, and client-specific specifications.
  • Valid offshore medical certificate and BOSIET / HUET certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency in NDT software and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.

4. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Technical Competence: Expert-level knowledge of NDT techniques and their application in offshore structural inspections.

  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of offshore safety protocols and hazard identification.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex inspection data and provide effective solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Capability to guide and supervise junior technicians and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Documentation: Meticulous attention to detail in report preparation and record maintenance.

5. WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Offshore platform / jacket environment (Location: A632-710).
  • Rotational shift schedule as per project requirements.
  • Exposure to harsh weather conditions, heights, and confined spaces.
  • Strict adherence to PPE requirements and offshore safety protocols.
