The Role

Ownership and Duties

• Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment for machinery, buildings, support services, and utilities.
• Perform reactive maintenance, diagnostics, and root cause analysis to limit production downtime.
• Carry out proactive machine maintenance according to the planned preventive maintenance schedule.
• Identify improvements and liaise with the site team to implement them.
• Complete occasional installations and ensure maintenance work meets safety, cost, quality, and timing standards.
• Support compliance reporting, scheduling, and action on reports.

Who You Are

• Minimum of five years of experience in an engineering or technician role, preferably in production, manufacturing, or FMCG.
• Strong electromechanical fault-finding ability.
• Approachable, respectful, and able to work effectively with staff across the site.
• Flexible to work five days per week depending on production requirements.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Previous team leadership experience is advantageous.
• Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification is advantageous.
• Steam boiler and steam cooking process experience is advantageous.
• Electrical capability, preferably with 18th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification.
• Knowledge of food safety, food hygiene, or HACCP standards is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Multivac lines is preferred but not essential because training will be provided.

Compensation

• The advertised pay is £45,000 to £55,000 per year.

Location and Work Arrangement

• The role is based at the KatKin Kitchen in Haverhill, Suffolk, and work is performed in person.
• Candidates must reliably commute to Haverhill or plan to relocate before starting.
• United Kingdom work authorization is required.
