WHAT YOU WILL DO
- As a Mid-Range Mine Engineer, you will provide engineering planning and technical leadership for underground mine development and infrastructure.
- Mine Development Planning: Responsible for Mid-Range mine development planning (1–3 years) and reviewing infrastructure to support mining fronts which are consistent with the established standards for the Mine. Optimization & Risk Mitigation: Liaise with operations and technical services personnel to evaluate and create best practice plans for mining fronts. Enhance mineability through innovative designs, minimize dilution, identify plan risks, and establish mitigations. Scheduling: Develop & maintain 3-month rolling schedules which support the business goals within operational constraints. Maintain schedules for the current end-of-year plan in Deswik.Sched and create new 2-year budgetary schedules from the Life of Mine (LOM) plan. Collaboration: Liaise with Technical and Operational teams to develop robust and compliant mine designs and schedules which support the long-range plan. Liaise with the LOM planning team to support designs and Long-Range infrastructure planning. Underground Inspections: Travel underground regularly to validate conditions and create viable plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: University Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering. Registration: P.Eng designation with the ability to transfer to Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
- 5+ years of experience in underground longhole stoping mines.
