ALS Environmental is hiring an Analyst 1 for its Microbiology team in Wakefield.
The role offers part-time laboratory work in environmental science and sample processing.
Day-to-day work
- Process samples in line with the Quality Management System and meet completion targets and deadlines.
- Work with team members to ensure efficient sample processing and respond to customer requirements.
- Follow COSHH risk assessments when handling chemicals safely.
Essential requirements
- At least an A Level in Science or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and careful adherence to instructions and procedures.
- Good communication skills, basic IT proficiency, and ability to organize work independently and collaboratively.
- Customer-focused approach and commitment to excellent service.
Hours
- 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, either 5pm–9pm or 6pm–10pm.
Work arrangement and location
- The role is based in Wakefield and includes laboratory sample processing; on-site car parking is available.
Employment and compensation
- Permanent, part-time position.
- Salary is £13,987 per annum.
Benefits
- Annual leave starts at 25 days and increases to 30 days, plus 8 public holidays, pro rata for part-time work.
