Role overview

Responsibilities

• Research products and manufacturing processes and share findings with senior engineers.
• Work with the EMIA team and complete tasks on time.
• Collaborate with CoE molding to improve standards.
• Attend meetings for molds under construction during launch.
• Coordinate and monitor engineering changes to injection molds.
• Register critical plastic injection mold components in the tool crib area.

Experience and education

• 5+ years of relevant design experience in precise injection molds for automotive plastic parts and 4+ years of connector mold design experience.
• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with tooling background, or a post-diploma in tool designing from NTTF, GTTC, CIPET, or another reputed institution.
• Good experience with 3D CAD; Creo is preferred.

Technical knowledge and competencies

• Knowledge of plastic injection molding, tool making, tool steel application and selection, heat treatment, and plating/coating.
• Strong understanding of polymer theory, engineering-grade resins, Six Sigma, LEAN (TEOA), and geometric tolerances.
• Moldex3D/Moldflow and assembly or stamping design are added advantages.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; good project management, multitasking, communication, and presentation skills.

Workplace

• The posting specifies an onsite workplace in Pune, India. Travel required is less than 10%.
