Role Overview

MEP (Electrical) Designer

• to lead the full scope of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design across high-end hospitality, residential, and mixed-use developments in Dubai.
• The role requires hands-on technical expertise combined with leadership capability to manage design delivery, ensure authority compliance, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.
• Key Responsibilities.
• Lead end-to-end MEP design including:
• HVAC systems (chilled water systems, VRF/VRV, ventilation, smoke management)
• Electrical systems (LV/MV distribution, load calculations, lighting design, ELV systems)
• Plumbing & drainage (water supply, irrigation, sewer, stormwater)
• Fire protection systems (sprinkler, fire alarm coordination)
• Prepare and review:
• Concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC drawings
• Load calculations (cooling, electrical, water demand)
• Ensure designs meet
• Dubai’s environmental and energy efficiency standards

3. Coordination & BIM Integration

• Coordinate MEP systems with:
• Architectural, structural, and interior teams
• Lead BIM coordination using:
• Revit MEP
• Navisworks (clash detection)
• Resolve design clashes and optimize spatial planning

4. Team Leadership

• Lead and manage the internal
• MEP design team
• Review all drawings, calculations, and deliverables
• Allocate workloads and ensure timely project delivery
• Mentor junior engineers and draftsmen

5. Cost Control & Value Engineering

• Participate in
• value engineering
• to optimize cost and efficiency
• Prepare and review BOQs and technical specifications
• Support procurement with vendor evaluations and technical comparisons

6. Construction Support

• Provide technical support during construction phase
• Review and approve:
• Shop drawings
• Material submittals
• Method statements
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with approved designs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
• Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering
• Professional certifications (preferred):
• CIBSE / ASHRAE / PMP or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 3-6
• years
• of experience in MEP design
• Strong UAE/Dubai experience is
• mandatory
• Proven track record in:
• Hospitality (hotels, resorts, F&B outlets)
• High-end residential / mixed-use developments
• Experience handling
• authority approvals in Dubai

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in:
• HVAC system design and calculations
• Electrical distribution and load analysis
• Plumbing systems and water demand calculations
• Software:
• AutoCAD (mandatory)

• Revit MEP (mandatory)

• Navisworks (preferred)
