Medical Technician

Duties

• Collect and process blood and other specimens using proper techniques, safety practices, and equipment.
• Assist patients during adverse reactions and promptly alert supervisory staff when emergencies arise.
• Receive and verify specimens from outside sources, ensuring proper labeling and documentation; initiate recollection when needed.
• Contact patients for recollections with clear, timely instructions and maintain professional communication.
• Order, accession, and prioritize lab tests; provide correct containers and preparation instructions; schedule testing appointments.
• Monitor patient flow to maintain timely service standards and escalate delays as needed.
• Process external test requests, distribute results to providers, and respond to inquiries about test orders or status.
