Mechanical Technician
Role Overview
Carries out routine and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical equipment and auxiliaries associated with chilled water production excluding chillers, such as pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, pipework, and air compressors.
Works as tasked by superiors in compliance with the Work Order system to ensure minimal downtime.
Carries out preventive, routine, and breakdown maintenance for rotating and static equipment such as centrifugal chillers, pumps, and cooling towers in District Cooling Plant, Chilled Water Network, and Energy Transfer station.

Job Summary
Carries out routine and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical equipment and auxiliaries associated with chilled water production excluding chillers, such as pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, pipework, and air compressors.
Works as tasked by superiors in compliance with the Work Order system to ensure minimal downtime.
Carries out preventive, routine, and breakdown maintenance for rotating and static equipment such as centrifugal chillers, pumps, and cooling towers in District Cooling Plant, Chilled Water Network, and Energy Transfer station.
Corrective Maintenance
- Respond to faults and failures reported in plants through the work order system; visit sites to inspect, troubleshoot, and correct the fault.
- Technically sound alongside hands-on experience with various rotating equipment and heat exchangers.
- Perform prescribed standard tests to ensure that the mechanical equipment in the plant is operating properly according to established specifications in coordination with Operations.
- Utilize proper spare parts to ensure return of chilled water supply in a short period of time especially during emergencies.
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment in plants according to established schedule and maintenance cycle.
- Conduct maintenance on all mechanical equipment and auxiliaries associated with chilled water production excluding chillers, including pumps, cooling towers, gearboxes, heat exchangers, valves, pipework, and air compressors, and take appropriate action to repair or replace parts as needed.
- Refer major maintenance requirements to the supervisor in order to schedule corrective maintenance within the suggested or accepted timeframe.
Job-Specific Skills
- Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Expertise in Mechanical system and Rotating parts.
- Safety Concerns particularly tag out systems.
- Basic Knowledge on District cooling plant operational activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualifications: A Diploma in Mechanical Technology / Maintenance.
- Minimum Experience: 1-3 Years of Experience.
