  • Coordinate interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, fire and life safety, ICT, and architectural disciplines.
  • Support HVAC, plumbing, drainage, pumping, utilities, fire protection interfaces, and specialist mechanical systems.
  • Review equipment selections, technical specifications, data sheets, and supplier and contractor submittals for compliance.
  • Support material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and technical submissions.
  • Review installation work, support construction teams, resolve site technical issues, and respond to RFIs, queries, and design clarifications.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor compliance, and coordinate inspections and testing with Quality teams.

Commissioning and project coordination

  • Review commissioning procedures and verify mechanical system performance against approved design requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical interfaces and integration with existing and new airport infrastructure.
  • Review design changes and alternatives; identify constructability issues and technical risks and recommend mitigation.
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors on technical requirements, equipment delivery, inspections, and documentation.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, track engineering actions, and support technical reports and progress updates.
  • Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, testing records, commissioning documentation, and handover dossiers.
  • Support value engineering, constructability, safety coordination, continuous improvement, and lessons learned; provide guidance to junior engineers and site teams.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience in airport, aviation, infrastructure, buildings, utilities, or major construction projects.
  • Understanding of mechanical building services and infrastructure systems and of design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and vendors.

Technical skills

  • Mechanical engineering design; HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, pumps, mechanical equipment, water supply, utilities, and mechanical piping.
  • Equipment selection, technical specifications, shop drawing and technical submittal review, material submittals, method statements, and inspection and test plans.
  • RFIs, technical queries, site engineering, construction support, testing and commissioning, system balancing, pressure testing, flushing, and equipment inspection.
  • Constructability review, engineering change management, multidisciplinary coordination, as-built and O&M documentation, and technical reporting.
  • Applicable standards include ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, IPC, IMC, SMACNA, ASTM, ISO, and project-specific requirements.
  • AutoCAD, BIM, or Revit awareness; MS Office and technical reporting.

Preferred qualifications and working approach

  • Professional Engineering certification is preferred; PMP or equivalent project management training is an advantage.
  • LEED, CEM, ASHRAE, and relevant HSE certifications are advantageous depending on project requirements.
  • Strong technical and analytical ability, engineering judgment, problem-solving, communication, coordination, attention to detail, and stakeholder management.
