Position summary

Maintenance and repair

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
• Identify equipment shut-off valves; maintain parts inventory and requisition supplies.
• Read blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC.
• Repair property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and pool-heating equipment to company standards and applicable codes.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical fixtures, air conditioners, appliances, internet devices, and other hotel equipment.
• Use engineering computer programmes for preventive maintenance, energy management, and related systems.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel MEP systems.

Safety and shift coordination

• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work and follow safety and security procedures.
• Report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries and store flammable materials safely.
• Communicate shift activities and problems to other shifts through approved channels.
• Perform Engineer on Duty readings and rounds; train and mentor other engineers as needed.

Required qualifications

• Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification is required.
• Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience is listed.
• Demonstrate the specified proficiency across the listed maintenance categories.
• Advanced ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC.
• Strong general mechanical ability and safe use of hand and power tools.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background preferred.
• Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, inventory, requisitioning, and surface preparation and painting are preferred.
• A valid driver's license is listed under qualifications.

Maintenance categories

• Listed categories include air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.

Schedule and physical work

• Full-time, non-remote position at the JW Marriott in Dubai.
• The work involves lifting and moving equipment, stairs, service ramps, ladders, and other physical maintenance tasks.
