Role details

Maintenance and repairs

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance problems with little or no supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspect tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Identify and operate equipment shutoff valves; maintain inventory and order parts and supplies.
• Complete complex property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and pool-heater repairs safely and in compliance with applicable standards and codes.
• Diagnose and repair equipment, pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, and internet devices.
• Use engineering systems for preventive maintenance and energy management; conduct engineer-on-duty readings and rounds.
• Train and guide other engineers as needed and communicate shift handovers.

Required qualifications

• A valid driving licence and universal CFC certification are required.
• Must meet applicable state and federal certification or licensing requirements.
• Must demonstrate strong general mechanical ability, engineering operations aptitude, and safe tool use.
• Must have the stated level of ability across at least three listed technical categories, including above-average ability in two or more.
• Must be able to read basic blueprints and electrical diagrams related to plumbing and HVAC.

Desirable qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED, or vocational or technical training, is preferred.
• Related general maintenance, electrical, refrigeration, inventory, parts-ordering, surface-preparation, or painting experience is desirable.
• At least two years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience is listed as desirable.
• Supervisory experience is not required.

• Relevant areas include air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical work, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.
• The role requires advanced troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

• Follow company safety policies, report maintenance and safety issues, complete safety training, and store flammable materials correctly.
• Maintain a neat professional appearance, protect confidential information and company property, and meet quality standards.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist people with disabilities, and communicate professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Move and position objects, climb stairs and ladders, and perform bending, reaching, and other physical work duties.
