Mechanic

Position summary

Maintenance and engineering duties

• Maintain and inspect tools and equipment; identify shut-off valves; manage maintenance inventory and requisition parts.
• Read blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC; troubleshoot hotel MEP systems.
• Repair pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, pool heaters, and other property equipment.
• Use Lockout/Tagout and comply with company standards, safety procedures, and applicable codes.
• Use preventive-maintenance and energy-management programs; perform Engineer on Duty readings and rounds.
• Communicate shift updates, maintain records, and train or mentor other engineers when needed.

Guest service and workplace conduct

• Respond to guests’ service needs and communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries; follow company safety, security, and quality procedures.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and care of company assets.
• Move and position objects up to 50 pounds without assistance; use stairs, ramps, and ladders.

Required qualifications

• Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification is required.
• Must meet applicable state and federal certification and licensing requirements.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and vocational or technical background are preferred.
• Extensive related maintenance training and experience, including electrical or refrigeration work, inventory, requisitions, and painting, are preferred.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
