The Material Test Engineer will prepare test specimens, execute material and coating tests, register and report results, support investigations, and ensure lab compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare test specimens (cutting, embedding, polishing, coating, conditioning) per test procedures
- Execute tests including tensile, hardness, impact, stone chipping, salt spray, coating thickness, color measurement, microscopy inspections
- Follow internal standards and international test methods (ISO, ASTM, DIN, IEC)
- Register test results in lab systems; maintain complete records
- Produce test reports including sample details, methods, results, graphs, and observations
- Support data interpretation and root cause investigations; escalate deviations and out-of-spec results
- Support audits, calibration activities, and quality assurance
- Follow safety requirements for facility and lab operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset; strong communication and teamwork; ability to multitask; proactive problem-solver
