Material Planner III

Job purpose

Planning and procurement

• Execute and analyze MRP to identify demand, inventory, and supply needs; manage exceptions and deviations.
• Plan externally procured materials and coordinate strategy with procurement, sourcing, engineering, and buyers.
• Release purchase requisitions when required and report procurement progress and risks to planning stakeholders.
• Support commodity planning, standardization, stocking, order quantities, product utilization, and consumption-based planning.
• Validate project versus common stock use against financial standards and procurement strategy.

Inventory and material data

• Manage inventory levels, reduce excess, optimize strategic stock, and maximize inventory turns.
• Maintain material master data in S4 HANA, including extensions and changes for externally procured or subcontracted materials.
• Process engineering changes and maintain accurate plant material masters and bills of materials; verify demand and plant data.
• Control material allocation during supply restrictions and escalate conflicts.
• Develop distribution plans to minimize logistics costs and support site demand.
• Provide material management guidance and training to colleagues and other functions.

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum 6–9 years of relevant planning experience.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Planning, or Supply Chain is preferred.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, the Engineering Execution Process, and engineering BOMs.

Technical skills

• Proficiency in S4 HANA; advanced Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and KPI development and use.
• Primavera P6 is preferable.
• Planning qualifications or experience are nice to have.

Additional preferred experience

• Subsea construction planning, manufacturing or operations, and energy industry experience are nice to have.
• Advanced S4 HANA planning systems and transaction skills are preferred.
• APICS CPIM certification is desired; Lean Six Sigma experience or certification is preferred.
• A technical background is a plus.
