Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage service bookings, appointment scheduling, vehicle handover, and invoicing.
• Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, periodic maintenance, and accessory fitment to BYD standards.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve vehicle faults.
• Follow the Fix It Right process and support first-time repair targets.
• Handle work orders and warranty, goodwill, leasing, and insurance documentation.
• Maintain Electronic Vehicle Checks and technical reports.
• Meet workshop productivity targets and promised vehicle timelines.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Follow HSSE, 5S, and BYD quality standards.
• Mentor junior technicians and support workshop capability development.

Required skills and experience

• Advanced vehicle diagnostic and fault-finding expertise, including automotive electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
• Strong customer-facing communication; explain technical issues clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency with OEM diagnostic systems, special service tools, and workshop equipment.
• Knowledge of warranty procedures, repair processes, workshop operations, and OEM/distributor standards.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, repair manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and reporting skills; commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Team-oriented approach and ability to coach colleagues.

Qualifications

• IMI Light Vehicle Master Technician Level 3–4 or equivalent.
• Advanced OEM certification such as Diagnostic Master, Gold Technician, Level 3, or equivalent.
• 6–7 years as a Light Vehicle Technician and 2 years as a Diagnostic Technician.
• Customer-facing automotive service experience or Service Advisor exposure is highly desirable.
• Automotive dealership experience is preferred.
• Good PC literacy and familiarity with Dealer Management Systems.
• Valid UAE driving license.
