Role overview
Manage marine surveys from initial notification through completion from GAC's Dubai office.
The work includes attending surveys and responding to marine incidents.
Responsibilities
- Attend surveys when required and complete survey work in-house where possible.
- Review and respond to correspondence from P&I club principals and members; prepare reports that meet club requirements.
- Maintain accurate timesheets and records of work and related expenses.
- Coordinate third-party contractors and engage them when required.
- Build relationships with local shipowners and agents to promote marine surveying services.
- Improve working practices and service quality, communicate process improvements and business concerns, share ideas, and provide guidance.
- Meet monthly financial targets.
What GAC is looking for
- Professional background as a marine engineer.
- At least two to three years of experience in a marine surveyor role; sailing experience is an advantage.
- Valid UAE driving license and strong knowledge of hull and machinery.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
