- The Managing Director serves as the primary point of contact between the company and its clients, overseeing operations at a strategic level while maintaining direct relationships with ship captains and key decision-makers. The role bridges client relations, operations, and commercial decision-making to ensure jobs are secured, executed, and closed successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for captains and clients, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Facilitate and coordinate ship repair, maintenance, and dry dock jobs from initial inquiry through to completion.
- Oversee operations at a senior level, functioning as an operations manager on a broader, strategic scale.
- Liaise with and, where necessary, provide input into technical matters across departments (mechanical, electrical, fabrication, carpentry, etc.) to keep jobs on track.
- Represent the company at the forefront of all client communications and negotiations.
- Manage commercial aspects of jobs, including pricing decisions and approving discounts to secure work.
- Support the recovery of outstanding payments and follow up on monies owed by clients.
